Today, I began the process of removing invasive lamium from area F of our Doug Garden Pilot Project site along the trails (see projects page). I succeeded in hand-pulling an area about 5 feet square in the space of 2 hours (with several breaks to chat to local neighbours passing on the trail). There is already some native salal growing on this site F area – and we hope to plant more once all invasives are removed. This is an exercise in patience! Slowly, but surely!
Here is a good local resource on lamium http://www.metrovancouver.org/services/regional-planning/PlanningPublications/YellowArchangelBMP.pdf
