Recently a couple of our members have been christened as “Fern Fairies”. It all began when we heard from a local resident who had been helping trim invasive blackberry on her early morning walks. However, due to physical limitations of using a walker, this local resident had been unable to dispose of the cut invasives off-site. So, a couple of our volunteers, “The Fern Fairies”, came to the aid. Using a set of wheelbarrows, they collected the invasive cuttings, brought them back to green bins and disposed of them. Since then, “The Fern Ferries” have been busy at work supporting the hard work of others along the trail by disposing of cut weeds. There is even talk of them sprouting wings in the future. Keep your eyes out on the trail, as you might be lucky enough to spot “The Fern Fairies”.
