Despite heavy rain, 16 volunteers gathered on Feb 7, 2026 for our monthly Invasive Pull.
A local resident in Kinross Creek Housing Co-op was generous enough to allow us to use her carport space, so we could hide from the rain during our welcome circle. Once we had all shared our name and a stretch, we headed down the Red Alder Trail, to our stewardship area adjacent to Cartier Place complex.
Beneath the Douglas Fir trees, we removed 960 L of invasive ivy, Himalayan blackberry, lamium, and perwinkle. Some of the ivy will be used for a private weaving workshop with Stanley Park Ecology this Thursday and for our public Adhoc Weaving Workshop on Feb 21.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers for making the event such a success: Barbara, Cathy, Chloe, Connie G., Erin, Gary, Grace, Jeannine, Joe, Lyn, Maile, Moira, Pippa, Sauha, Sofia, and Sung. Special thanks to volunteers Erin & Joe who served as co-leads with Grace.
