I had the privilage of taking out Mrs. Renshaw’s Grade 1/2 class from Champlain Heights Elementary school for another educational walk and down the Champlain Heights trail.
For our 45 minute walk we stopped to look at edible native and naturalized plants, including: plantain (its leaves are shaped like a footprint!), Herb Robert (also known as “stinky Bob” because of its strong smell!), and salmonberry (whose berries actually look like salmon eggs!).
If your curious to read more about the plants, please check out a complete summary of the walk here.
