35 amazing community members came together for our Forest & Feast event today!
Together, we enjoyed –
🌿a pollinator walk: we learned about our local bees & plants from nature educator Kristen Penhall

🌿an invasive removal experience – we pulled out 1,320 L of invasive ivy!

🌿a delicious lunch, with a variety of bannock sandwiches (gluten-free and vegetarian-inclusive) prepared by Alicia & Jill of V6A Garden

Special thanks to Marge for cooking 3 types of dessert loaves and Jeannine for creating table decorations and baking gluten-free cupcakes.
Forest & Feast was an opportunity to connect with nature and with community. Both local residents and current and prospective members of city government attended this event. City Councillor Sean Orr, City Council nominee Annette Reilly, and Park Board contestant Spencer Van Vlotten.

We are grateful to all the volunteers who helped with setting up, welcoming participants, co-leading, pulling invasives, and cleaning up: Annette, Anthea, Connie H, Ellie, Eloise, Erin, Genevieve, Gloria, Grace, Greg, Jax, Jeannine, Jennifer, John, Karen, Kiki, Lorri, Marge, Mia, Mikey, Moira, Nicholas, Nico, Paul, Robin, Sage, Samantha, Sean, Spencer, Tuesday, Veronika, Westley, and more!
