We were honoured to welcome Tamiko Suzuki, certified Forest Bather & Senior Park Champion, to the Champlain Heights Trails today. She guided participants on a Forest Bathing walk, providing several “invitations” to connect with nature. Invitations included: “walk and notice something moving”, “introduce yourself to a tree”, and “find a found object and bring it back to create art together”.

Some wonderful quotes from participants included:
- “I heard they ride the wind” (refering to a spider that swung out on its sticky web
- “I noticed the light moving in the water droplets, and that was very special to me”.
- “Zeroing in on the leaves – like we don’t notice the clouds moving”
- “I enjoy finding the micro universe – looking at bark & moss”
- “this is perfect way to mark the change in seasons”
Everything seemed so alive. We discovered that everything in nature has a story.

What a lovely way to slow down and really be present in the forest.
We hope to welcome Tamiko back again in the Spring, as the weather warms up again.
Thanks to all our lovely participants: Aeysha, Arnold, Claudia, Eddy, Grace, Jane, Laura, Mieko, Patricia, Robin, Rodrigo, Spring, and Tanya.
We were happy to partner again with Curiko for this event. Thier nonprofit makes sure those with intellecutal disabilities feel included and connected with the community. Everyone should feel welcome in nature because nature is for everyone!
