Indigenous Plant Walk

Thanks to a Neighbourhood Small Grant, we were blessed to be able to have Lori Snyder, Métis herbalist and educator lead an Indigenous Plant Walk on Saturday, September 11 from 10-11:30am. She shared the traditional native usages of both naturalized and native plants, such as the plantain, false sunflower, salal, and Oregon grape. We had 14 people in attendance at our walk which went through the lovely forested trails of Champlain Heights Park.

We have recorded portions of the walk and Free the Fern member, Christine, will be editing a highlights video, which will be available later on this site.
