In March 2021, Free the Fern launched an Art for Plants Fundraiser.
As part of this fundraiser, Free the Fern is selling hand-painted bird art by local artist, Kiki Nombrado.
5×7 art is $15 each or 3 for $40.
100% of the proceeds go to purchase native plants for the Red Alder Trail in South Vancouver.
Please email email@example.com to inquire about our current availability.

Free the Fern has used funds from our Art for Plants Fundraiser to purchase hundreds of native plants (ferns, berries and perennial flowers) for the Red Alder Trail in South Vancouver.
May 29, 2021 Update: Free the Fern has successfully raised $830 dollars so far! This will go to support fall native planting on the Red Alder Trail. Thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraiser so far!
October 15, 2021 Update: Thanks to the support of the BCIT Ecological Restoration Masters Program students, who purchased many of our art at an on-campus event, we successfully raised $190, for a total of $1,103 so far.
November 8, 2021 Update: After a successful Community Planting Event on October 24 (where we fundraised $165) and subsequent sales, we now have raised a total of $1308! We have purchased $858 worth of native plants for fall 2021 plantings along the Red Alder Trail. We have saved the remaining funds for future planting efforts.
December 4 Update: At the Tugboat Landing Artisan Market in the River District, Free the Fern sold $670 worth of art. So we have raised $1993 dollars so far since launching our Art for Plants Fundraiser in the spring! We look forward to using the remaining in savings ($1,135) for planting along the Red Alder Trail in 2022.
